The Husssh~
a placid gray sky
hangs over me
there is no heaven
nor exactly hell
tonight
just disgruntled
blue skies
that lost their
place in line
again
only the gray
and myself
kindred spirits
alone - awake
always...
Drizzle~
slow silent mood
melancholy-
makes me ache
for things
I cannot even
remember
what it's like
to know someone
before ever even
meeting
hoping to pinpoint
the magnetic source
fearing all the while
it too might
escape you
try to stretch
the moment
long enough
that you won't
long for it
later
when you're
with yourself
again, dwelling
in the recesses
of a solitary
mind
that knows
the greater whole
is our collective soul
Crunchy~
I'm not some
whole wheat
bottled water
organic
tofu
purist
I don't need
burlap bag style
pretention
in my fashion
or an overpriced sandal
to feel free
keep your dreads
your funky ass
smelling
essential body oils
and your
over worked
low maintenance
take a shower
shave your pits
and noose those
things in a bra
saggy tits don't make you
a damn activist
making life matter
says it all
In Flight~
I dug my hand in
deeply- reaching
down in to the earth
tried like hell
to take root
my five peircings
grounded and
clutching
to reach that well
deserved quench of thirst
I never found the water
and nothing grew
strong enough
to hold me steady
when the wind blew
again, in flight
Circular Turns~
swirling churning
never ending
circulation
of thought
of the life cycle
of the soul in man
for all the
great theories
and marvelous minds
all the urequited passion
all the perfect endings
and each place in between
we somehow persevere
we all take
our turn
at stirring the pot
that keeps us
in motion
hoping not to drown

BIO: Chloe Ryan is 34 but clinging to "chick status".
She has 20 poems in a poetry book "Dark Nights", has
her own book, "Leaving Yesterday", published by Crazy
Horse Publishing, and was recently published in The
Dream People and Nirvana Flats. She's rumored to being
doing something at the 2003 Pop Culture Association's
Annual Conference, but then again, there are probably
many rumors about her...she only admits to the good
ones. She claims "life is so full of possibilities and
the thrill of the unknown is so great".
